International Trade Law
This module is designed to develop essential knowledge of and important insight into issues relating to international trade. The buying and selling of goods across national boundaries have been a critical feature of commercial activity over many years. The practices and processes are driven by the development of complex contractual relationships which include contracts of sale, including carriage and insurance as well as letters of credit. Each of these elements requires confidence and certainty between the trading parties when seeking to gain profit and it is the certainty in English law and how it mediates disputes between parties that is recognised and respected throughout the world. You will consider the nature of rights and obligations of buyers and sellers under contracts for the international sale of goods, focusing particularly on the Sale of Goods Act.
